QlikView and "Elastic Lists"

Colleague John Goodall pointed out this post by Moritz Stefaner on "Elastic Lists." Stefaner's demo of a Nobel Prize winner drilldown is QlikView-like in some respects.

In Qlikview, because all data is memory-resident, the frequency of occurrence for all values (whether dimensions or "facts") are instantly on demand available, not only for display as in charting, but within expression building. Supplying the counts w/ the dimension is easy. Providing proper animations as suggested by Stefaner here isn't so easy or obvious. There's a lot of uncertainty among developers who seem to think animation is gimmicky. ◦
